THE JAPANESE POPULATION IS THE SECOND HALF OF THE XIX CENTURY IN THE MEMOIRS OF RUSSIAN TRAVELERS

This article describes the main aspects of the daily life of the Japanese population the second half of the XIX century, reflected in historical sources, created by Russian travelers visiting Japan. The author investigate life, material culture, family relationships and values, customs, norms and morals of the Japanese of these period.
