Abstract
Postpartum depression?(PPD) is a type of?clinical depression,?which can affect both sexes after child birth. Symptoms may include sadness,?low energy, changes in sleeping and eating patterns, and reduced desire for sex, crying episodes,?anxiety, and irritability. Most of the women experience self-limited, mild symptoms postpartum, postpartum depression should be suspected when symptoms are severe and have lasted over two weeks. In this case study a patient of 30Year-old-female was admitted to the hospital, with the symptoms of? sweating ,fearfulness and elementary auditory hallucinations and altered sleep till 3:00am and ulcers in mouth. Patient was diagnosed with post-partum depression with psychotic changes. Patient was treated with Antidepressants like Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors and multivitamins. Patient was discharged after the relieving of symptoms and pharmacist has done patient counseling for effective quality of living.
