Abstract

Well differentiated cancers of the thyroid invading trachea are uncommon and preoperative identification helps in planned management. We report a 69 year old man with thyroid cancer invading the trachea that was successfully managed with total thyroidectomy with en bloc tracheal sleeve resection. We advocate aggressive surgical extirpation for thyroid carcinoma invading the trachea.
