Abstract
The authors consider broadcasting policy of the leading channels and their broadcast schedules as they compete for audience. A special place is held by the analysis of individual styles developed by the leading channels in the noughties when they clearly stated their policies and since then are making every attempt to keep their positions. Among major features of prime-time programs there are not only artistic, but also economic components, for in the modern visual culture it is television that is especially distinguished by a close interrelation of many components (economy, sociology etc.).
