Abstract
The discussion is centered on the problem of understanding emotions by preschool children. Understanding emotions is considered by the author as a constituent of emotional and perceptive ability, as ability to interpret a perceived emotional state, i.e. a set of skills. Key among them are the skills to: identify of facial expression, give the verbal designation of emo- tion, define expressive and impressive features of emotion and describe the causes and conse- quences of emotional state. At the context of this article the analysis of the results of foreign and native empirical studies of some gender features of children’s understanding human emotions is present
