Abstract
Tourmaline’s surface was successfully modified by an aluminic ester coupling agent. Experimental results showed that the activation index of the modified tourmaline reached to 97 % when 1.5 % aluminic ester was applied at 70 oC for 0.5 hour in benzene. Structural analysis indicated that the modified tourmaline remained the original crystal configuration, but the surface hydrophobic property was improved obviously.
