Abstract
We report a rare case of supratentorial epidermoid cyst with osseous metaplasia. A 13year old girl presented with complaints of headache and vomiting for the past 10days and slowly progressive weakness of right lower limb since 3years.She had undergone a right Ventriculo peritoneal shunt for post meningitic hydrocephalus at 1year of age. She was symptom free till 3years ago. Investigations with CT and MRI brain revealed a left fronto temporo parietal large extra axial calcified lesion with mass effect and no surrounding edema. Provisional diagnosis of a calcified chronic sub dural hematoma was made. Patient underwent Fronto temporoparietal craniotomy and evacuation of contents and total removal of capsule. Histopathological examination revealed an epidermoid cyst with features of osseous metaplasia.
