Abstract
The article is dedicated to the 70th birthday anniversary of Jamil G. Mukhametshin, a founder and the first director (1969?2000) of the Bolgar State Historical and Architectural Reserve-Museum. Owing to his talents as an organizer and researcher, Bolgar turned into a center of archaeological studies of early Bulgars and one of the active tourist centers of the republic. D.G. Mukhametshin is also known as an outstanding researcher the early Bulgaria epigraphics and numismatics. He published over 300 scientific and popular science works, including several monographs.
