Abstract
In this paper, the authors try to evaluated some contact mechanism characteristics at the interface between a cylindrical indentor with spherical head that exercise repeated inclined impacts at an angle of 300 over some thin layers from TiN. The coatings with thin layers were obtained by laser pulses deposition process and had different thickness, depending on the number of pulses al that were made the coatings. Were used two impact testers, one at low frequency and other at high frequency. It was analyzed the evolution of the failure process of coatings, as well as the appearance and development of critical events. By chance, after a cyclic inclined impact test at 300 over 104 cycles, it has produced a long imprint of wear, very similar to that obtained by another author, and declared as resulting as a consequence of an “inclined cyclic impact test with sliding”.
