Abstract

Computer technology has become increasingly integrated into modern corporations, which are also becoming increasingly interconnected locally and internationally. Where interconnectedness and dependency on computer technology are not managed and mitigated by some form of security measures, the result can only be a complex and vitally important communications system which is nevertheless vulnerable to information theft, financial electronic crime, malicious attack or infrastructure breakdown. Corporate managers therefore need to understand the growing cyber war threats and implement appropriate strategies to mitigate the risks. This paper presents a generic framework for a strategy to assist corporations in defending against cyber war attacks. Such a strategy can be considered as a first step toward protecting corporations from cyber war threats in an efficient way.
