Abstract
Central Bank of the Russian Federation is its main financial institution operating in the field of management of monetary, financial and currency relations in the state. Its main functions and tasks, principles of operation and basic powers and legal status is enshrined in the following legal documents: Constitution of the Russian Federation and the Federal law "On the Central Bank of the Russian Federation". The Central Bank of the Russian Federation pursues the following objectives: maintaining the stability of the national currency, its purchasing power and exchange rate against foreign currencies; increase of efficiency and stabilization of the banking system of the Russian Federation; ensuring the optimal functioning of the settlement system. All of the above justifies the relevance of studying the specifics of the CBR, status, interests, responsibilities and functions.
