Abstract

Background. The scientific article is devoted to the problems of definition of the professional self-identification and formation factors of professional identity of personality. Analysis of recent research and publications has shown the basic philosophical and sociological approaches such as functionalism, symbolic interactionism, and social constructivism are used to define professional self-identification and factors of the formation of professional identity. The aim of this article is to analyze interdisciplinary approaches to the definition of professional self-identification and formation factors of professional identity of personality. Materials and methods. Analytical methods have been commonly used for analysis and synthesis to study the concept of professional identity, comparative analytical method has been used for the disclosure of interdisciplinary concepts and terminology. Institutional approach, methods of synthesis and classification have been used to determine the factors of professional identity. Results. The article considers topical issues of definition of professional identity. It provided socio-philosophical analysis of the factors and stages of formation of professional identity. Institutional approach has been formulated, according to which five groups of social institutions of professional self-identification of personality according to age stage have been selected. Conclusion. There are five objective formation factors of professional identity, according to five groups of social institutions, including the factor of family and family traditions, secondary education, socio-cultural context, the factor of professional education and the socioeconomic context.
