Abstract
The results of historical evolution investigation of economic power (from ancient times to modern age) have been presented in the article. The sequential switchover of economic power from one resource to another has been highlighted. It had been caused and accelerated by monopoly control over those resources's supply. The way of interrelation between the categories of monopoly and economic power in the society has been determined.
