The expediency analysis of software solutions application to manage reconstruction projects duration

Abstract

Substantiation of the expediency of Microsoft Projectsoftware application in selecting an appropriate variant of investment project implementation and efficient management of complex reconstruction projects duration. Methodology. Based on the conducted research it has been found out that complexity and sometimes lack of detailed development of all possible variants to be compared, which is usually time and effort consuming, isa significant drawback in conventional methodology of comparison and selection of rational technology and complex buildings reconstruction organization. Damage from not entirely analyzed versions of the projects and groundless management decisions is getting more and moremeasurable under the current volume of construction works and costs in our country. Possible ways to overcome the above mentioned problems have been provided in the article. Findings.The analysis has shown that it is reasonable to to apply economic and mathematical models as well as software solutions in order to manage and implement the process of complex reconstruction investment projects efficiently. The application of these methods made it possible to select the appropriate variant from all options of project implementation taking into account specified limitations. While designing and implementing investmentprojects, there is a set of limitations that should be taken into account to enhance forecasting reliability of projects technical and economic parameters. Time parameters or duration of investment projects are taken asmain investigated parameters that concern economic interests of all construction projects participants at different stages of life cycle. Further investigation directions are considered. Originality. The possibility of Microsoft Project software application aimed atdefining rational time parameters of complex reconstruction projects has been analyzed. Practical value. Microsoft Project software solutions to analyze and select appropriate variants of complex buildings reconstruction projects have been grounded. The application of software solutions will provide higher reliability and efficiency of physical feasibility management of reconstruction projects as well as better appeal of reconstruction projects for all construction operations participants.
