Abstract

Purpose. At the first stage research conducted analysis of information about the current air pollution in Dnepropetrovsk. It is shown that, despite the measures applied, the environmental situation related to air pollution is intense, causing danger to the life of the population. The issue of environmental risk from the violation of the second main index - MPCs, highly reliable preventing unfavorable impact on public health by prolonged admission of atmospheric pollutants in the body, was not investigated. That was the purpose of the work. Methodology. Methodology research based on the theory of probability and mathematical statistics, methods of experimental data, scientific methods of analysis and synthesis. Results. Surface concentrations Cj considered as a system of correlated random variables characterized by a multi-dimensional density distribution. In contrast to the health risk component of the environmental risk to humans is defined in the worst conditions, which in Ukraine adopted regulations on air pollution - the maximum single maximum permissible concentration (MPC) software which corresponds to the absence of influence of pollution on humans. Thus, according to the post of stationary observations of air quality in Dnepropetrovsk (Shevchenko Park), in 2014 there was excess daily average maximum permissible concentrations (MPCs) in all months of the year from 1.5 to 2.3 times, nitrogen dioxide-from 1.2 to 2.0 times. A significant excess of the norms observed in a number of other pollutants (such as formaldehyde) at observation posts located in different parts of the city. Findings. The methodology of the environmental risk assessment of air pollution involving experimental data and, as a criterion - the maximum permissible daily average concentration of pollutants. Practical value. The research results will be used to develop recommendations for improving the air quality of Dnepropetrovsk.
