Abstract

To clarify the mental stress relief on wrists warming, we conducted the experiment with eight healthy participants and researched the psychological responses difference between using the warming armrest after mental workload under time pressure typing test and using the normal temperature one. The physiological responses were evaluated with questionnaire methods: using total 21 questionnaire items which belong 7 mood states categories: "Active", "Anger", "Comfort", "Relax", "Strained", "Anxiety/Uneasiness", and "Languor/Boredom". As the result of experiment, when participants used warming armrest after mental workload, many of them improved their questionnaire score of "Anxiety/Uneasiness" and "Comfort". These results suggest that "wrists warming" brings the effect of relieving mental stress.
