Abstract

The author studies “sacrificial complexes” from the graves in the Vyatka burial grounds dated by the 6th ? 8th centuries, attributed to the early stage of the Emanaevо culture. Main features of the “sacrifi cial complexes” are described, such as: occurrence, correlation with the burial practice, their quantity in graves, grave goods, type of container, position in graves, anthropological characteristics and semantics. These data are compared with the Vyatka sites of the previous Pyany Bor period and synchronous sites from the ancient Perm and Volga-Finnish areas.
