Abstract
This paper presents the results of a case study on the feasibility of injecting produced natural gas into depleted oil reservoirs as a feasible solution to flaring of gas, in Nigeria. We present the basic and easily indentifiable reservoir and fluid factors that determine suitability of a reservoir in the Niger Delta basin, as an underground storage unit. The results obtained show that injecting gas for storage as a solution to flaring, is feasible in a substantial number of reservoirs in the Niger Delta.
