Abstract

The subject of the research is the essence of European requirements to providing solvency of insurers. The goal of this work lies in the analysis of European wants to the paying capacity of insurance companies as well as european experience with financial regulation activity insurers and formulate proposals on the possibility of its application in Ukraine The research methods. The work is done with the use of analytical and systematic methods of research. Work results. The pros and cons of Guidelines 2009/138/EU (?Solvency II?) were analyzed for the application to the domestic insurance companies. The comparison of operating requirements to solvency of Ukraine's insurance companies with the wants of Guidelines was conducted. Results application region. The received results are contributing to the design and making decisions in the control sphere of regulation and surveillance of insurance activity. Conclusions. The recommendations were formulated for the implementation of the main demands Guideline EU (?Solvency II?) in domestic practice of state regulation of the financial security
