Abstract

The scientific researches of language units communicative potential at different levels have been recently renewed in the national linguistics. The works of V. Abashina, F. Batsevych, G. Zolotova, N. Onypenko, M. Peshchak, I. Surnina, K. Shulzhuk are dedicated to the study of complex sentences from the position of their structural and grammatical detection. Despite a great number of researches and different ways for solving the problems, the problem of communicative realization of complex sentences of different types hasn't been considered in Ukrainian linguistics yet. A fiction is the system organized in a certain way that is characterized by elements of communication, their specificity and special structural correlations between them. The highest specificity is inherent of the syntactic text level. The complex sentences are involved in the formation of the text, the design of its composition. The dictionary of literary terms characterizes the language of fiction, language as a system that operates in the literature as a mean of creating aesthetic reality and reveals the creative possibilities of language. While analyzing the fiction it was revealed that it includes all types of complex sentences. Functioning of these units has the specific syntax depending on the type (substyle, genre) of the literary text. The relevance of the work is primarily due to the fact that the classification of a complex sentence is problematic in contemporary Ukrainian syntax, and there is the necessity for greater integration of these topics while studying the Ukrainian language and Ukrainian literature at the university, which is associated with the formation of language and speech skills. The results of the study can be used during the students' training for the theoretical or practical mastering of Ukrainian language syntax. The offered types of activities in Ukrainian classes demonstrate an unusual approach to teaching difficult moments of syntax in high school. As the practice has shown, the parallel study of complex sentences and fiction in universities is necessary for systematizing knowledge of language and literature, and it motivates students to study texts that reinforce their new knowledge of the language.
