SOCIO-ECONOMIC TRENDS OF THE TVER REGION ON THE EVE OF 1917

The article analyzes the socio-economic structure of the Tver province before 1914 and its transfor- mation into the first world war. Economic crisis, distress and hardship, a sharp change in the demographic com- position of the population, increased socio-economic tensions in the Tver province, which reached its peak by the beginning of 1917. The Extreme conditions of wartime, mass movement of people in territorial and social space has created a fertile ground for the marginalization of the Tver society. By 1917 the Marginal layers be- come formidable explosive force, can greatly influence the course and outcome of subsequent events in the Tver region
