COOPERATION BETWEEN AZERBAIJAN AND ISRAEL IN THE AREAS OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND EDUCATION IN THE COURSE OF INDEPENDENCE OF AZERBAIJAN

Extended sedentary life, which is characteristic to the Jewish communities in Azer- baijan, combined with migration and formation of a large diaspora in Israel and other coun- tries have impacted the nature and substance of the relationships, including those in the area of science, technology and education. It should be borne in mind that the starting conditions of the countries are unequal. Azerbaijan has been a part of the former Soviet Union, bearing the consequences of the collapse of the USSR. Israel is a developed country, whose policy in the region is supported by the major developed countries of the world. Despite this, there is a number of reasons of regional and historical character that contribute to the development of bilateral relations between the two countries. The greatest progress has been made in coopera- tion in the field of education
