Abstract

The article presents information about the influence of palm oil, specifically palmitic acid in its composition, on the adversive generation of cholesterol by the human body and metabolic changes resulting from palmitic metabolic pathway contributing to the development of atherosclerosis, insulin resistance, obesity, and diseases of the cardiovascular system.
