Abstract

The article is devoted to a systematic study of the lexical-semantic properties of bird names in Karakalpak. It tells about the paradigmatic, hierarchical and syntagmatic relations between lexical items ? ornithonyms. It was found out that due to paradigmatic relations those lexical units that have similar and specific features are united. The hierarchical relationships ? when lexical items with broad meaning include lexical items with a proper meaning and which are included in the generic-gender and integral and specific relations and syntagmatic connections may include logical combinations of lexical items ? ornithonyms with other linguistic combinations.
