CONCEPT OF REFERENCEINFORMANTION FUND OF AN ARCHIVE

Assignment of scientific and technical information services and reference-information funds, providing practical activities in the field of archives and document science were found out in the article. Interpretation of the term ?reference-information fund? and related terms ?reference-information service?, ?reference-search system? was submitted. Composition, objectives and functions of the reference-information fund of an archive, the procedure of its acquisition, registration and use were analyzed. Implemented during 2010?2011 years researches on the services of scientific-technical information of state archive institutions of Ukraine were considered. This indicated the practice of the resource funds functioning, in particular specificity of funds formation, reference-search system, forms and methods of informational activity of services of scientific-technical information and libraries (library funds) of state archive institutions of Ukraine. As a result of this experiment it was found that functioning of reference-information funds in separate archives does not always correspond to the required level, therefore it needs measures for the improvement.
