MONASTERIES DESCRIPTIONS OF XVIII ? EARLY XX CENTURIES AS HISTORICAL DOCUMENTS

The article discusses the possibility of studying and introduction into scientific circulation a sufficiently broad complex of sources – descriptions of Ukrainian monasteries, created from the mid-XVII to the beginning of XX century. These documents saved a considerable amount of information that has not yet entered into a scientific revolution: a historical, statistical, legal, economic, biographical, local studies, ethnographic and others.
