Abstract

This study focused on the Analysis of Principals' School Organization Climate Competencies as a tool for Effective Administration of Secondary Schools in Ohaozara Local Government Area, Ebonyi State. Four research questions guided the study. The population of the study consisted of all the 388 teachers in the 15 public secondary schools in the area under study with a sample size of 150 respondents. The researchers developed questionnaire entitled, “Analysis of Principals' School Organization Climate Competencies as a tool for Effective Administration of Secondary Schools Questionnaire (APSOCCTEASSQ) which was used for data collection. The data collected were analyzed using mean. The study revealed that to a high extent do open school climate, autonomous school organizational climate and controlled school organizational climate operates in public secondary schools in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State while to a low extent closed school organizational climate prevail in public secondary schools in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. Based on these findings, the study recommended among other things that the various arms of the government especially those in charge of secondary education administration in the area and state should try to improve on provisions of teaching and learning resources/facilities to boost staff and students moral, There is need for the government through the ministry of education and local education authority to continue to provide legal backing and professional protection for the principals in order for them to maintain enforcement of school rules and regulations in schools and School principals should ensure that their schools maintain spirit de corp in running their schools.
