PUBLIC HYGIENE MANAGEMENT IN CHITTOOR IN MADRAS PRESIDENCY

A town is a place for every citizen to work and reside-in. Of all the amenities, good hygiene of its inhabitants is most essential for the hygiene development of any town. The hygiene environment of the town is not satisfactory in pre-1917 period. Council tried its best to maintain the hygiene environment. Maternity and Child Welfare Centres played vital role in meeting the needs of the town. It took firm action in dealing with epidemics. Compulsory vaccination, taking firm steps in dealing with Food Adulteration are some of the effective step taken by the municipality.
