Abstract

The article presents the research on finite element modeling for the stability problems of thin-walled bars for the semi-shear theory of V.I. Slivker. The theory is equally applicable to thin-walled bars of both open and closed profiles. The geometric stiffness matrix for the semi-shear theory of V.I. Slivker was constructed. The constructed matrix was tested by comparing the results of the critical loads which were found by using finite element modeling with the exact solutions.
