Abstract
The article is devoted to history of the Dnipropetrovsk State University as an attempt to track life and career of M. P. Dolinin, which in 1949–1957 has been working at Faculty of History and Philology of DSU. The scientist continued business of predecessors D. F. Krasitsky and D. P. Poyda, who stood at the origins of department of history of DSU. In 1943-1946 and in 1946-1948 he has been heading Department of USSR History and has shown himself as the capable organizer and strict leader. Also he was one of founders of the first collection of scientific works "Scientific Notes of the Dnipropetrovsk University".
