Abstract
The article examines the role of primary health care as a key factor in ensuring public health. The conclusion is made about the need to shift the emphasis from treatment to disease prevention and promotion of a healthy lifestyle, as well as the introduction of a multi-disciplinary approach in ensuring public health.
