Abstract

The article is devoted to economic zoning as a means of territorial planning and forecasting of the main development directions of regions and management in the conditions of market economy on the basis of national interests of the country. We emphasized the role of the state as a rightful and responsible coordinator of economic processes on different hierarchical levels of territorial socio-economic systems (TS-ES). The region formation is considered as the objective basis for economic regionalization, on the one hand, oh the other hand, – as a means of developing the real economy, capable of improving the levels of socio-economic development of the country and its regions, because of systemic approach to the territorial organization of the productive forces. The main result of this approach is increasing the level and quality of life of the population regardless of its geographical location. As a result, the article offers in a timely manner to proceed with the development and implementation of Federal target regional programs, adapted to the market economy.
