Abstract

Timeliness of this topic is related to the fact that the idea of postmodernity today forms a certain horizon of understanding fundamental basics of economic theory. Therewith crisis phenomena in economic practice also cannot be adequately studied and understood without taking into account their modification in the context of methodological distortions introduced by postmodernity as the ideological content of the modern era. Postmodernity moved beyond philosophical and literary interests and began to be interpreted as the spirit of the modern era in various fields of human activity, including the economic one. It claims to be a common denominator of culture of the second half of XX century. Thus, postmodernity took the role of such a phenomenon as they seek to explain everything happening in the modern world. Postmodernity is the deconstruction of thinking by creating its multiple alternatives, variations, models contradicting each other. Instead of a hierarchical organization a «network» principle of existence is imposed on society wherein the functional ties of production, capital, authority, management, technology, communications and the market become the main bonds. Information in such society is designed to disguise the essential content. Public structures not included to the network become outcasts doomed to be ruined and disappear. Network communications form the internal infrastructure of society providing differentiation and competition, and the world market absorbs the state using elements of government as factors of systemic competition. Postmodernity is not so much a cultural trend as a new type of thinking and perception, a certain mentality refuting the system as such. Instead of a single absolute Truth it induces an infinite multiplicity of relative, private «truths», encourages them to «peaceful» coexistence and mutual adjustment within the framework of a pluralistic space.Postmodernity not only erodes the foundations of any system of concepts but unfolds a number of alternatives for each term, concept, theory, turning traditional concepts into only one of the possible networks of infinite concepts, the network of concepts. At the same time the network becomes a technology for reproduction of artificial life, it marks the era of existence of artificial (inorganic) systems and organisms capable of reproducing itself.
