Abstract
ABSTRACT Because of not having access to a safe water supply and sanitation affects the health of 1.2 billion people annually (WHO and UNICEF, 2000). Water is a very precious source and also basic requirement for survival of mankind. So it is necessary to meet with requirement of water availability according to increase in population. Appropriate ‘BALANCING ACT' would be ‘RECYCLE and REUSE' of wastewater. This will bring water back for use rather than disposing it considering as a ‘waste'. In this paper, case study of domestic sewage treatment plant at Vadodara City is discussed. Treatment on secondary effluent treatment plant shows acceptable quality for reuse for industrial purpose. Coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, ion exchange, chlorination treatments are tried in sequence and for application design are provided for reuse of waste water.
