Abstract
Underwater sound communication network is a critical environment. It is hard to transmit data error-free. Due to the high absorption of electromagnetic wave, neither radio nor the optics is suitable for long underwater transmission range. Despite the high attenuation in the upper frequency range, low-end noise, limited bandwidth, and high propagation delay, the acoustics is most appropriate way to move underwater information. The goal of this thesis is to provide simulation results that would find the approach to solve the performances of the proposed protocol for a given parameters like end-to-end delay, packet delivery ratio and energy consumption. From the results, we know that some proposed protocols can be very suitable for the underwater medium. These proposed protocols are AODV (adhoc on demand distance vector routing protocol), DSDV (distance vector routing protocol). The results of these protocols are very suitable mainly for packet delivery ratio. The simulation process is done by AQUA-sim network simulator tool for underwater sensor network. The simulation results are very close to the real scenario for underwater communication network. Therefore AQUA-sim simulator finds the packet and energy level information for AODV and DSDV routing protocol.
