Abstract

The article is devoted to the cognitive perception by the writer of reality around him and in himself by means of communicating with it. As a result of the dialogic process between the writer and reality there appears a literary work which is the material implementation of this dialogic process. The author of the article describes four mechanisms in the process of writer — reality communication. He also demonstrates the role and importance of such cognitive acts as reflection, representation, imagery, common sense, etc. In the article, it is stated that communication is based on two types of relations between its participants. They are subject-object or subjectsubject relations. Choosing the former, the writer places reality before him as a kind of object and tries to mirror it. However, if he chooses the latter, he enters the process of communication with it in which, on the one hand, he discovers some of its properties; on the other hand, reality itself discloses some of them. The author of the article argues that literary work is created by a dialogic process between the writer and reality; in the course of this dialogue, the writer communicates with reality and perceives it. Moreover, the author looks upon this dialogic process as an artistic method of perception and cognition of reality alongside the scientific one.
