Abstract
The theoretical grounds of public administration of innovative activities are summarized. The position of technologically advanced countries by their innovative development in the world are identified. The problems and the basic mechanisms of innovation policy in the countries of the European Union are investigated. The main directions of the public innovation policy in Ukraine are defined.
