Abstract

Background. Being a multidimensional concept, health-related quality of life can be regarded as a criterion of health and social care efficiency. The aim of this work was to determine changes of health-related quality of life of young women due to childbirth. Material and methods. We performed the analysis of the survey of 302 women aged from 21 to 27 years, which had been conducted in 2016 using the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire. Results. It was established that with regard to the components "assessment of the quality of life as a whole", " health satisfaction", "evaluation of the quality and accessibility of health care", "evaluation of health-related quality of life in dynamics" the best results were obtained in the group of women who had childbirth in their anamnesis. Most of the components of health-related quality of life were the lowest in the group of women who had never had pregnancy. Conclusion. Having a child and the fact of his/her birth has a positive impact on the quality of life of young women.
