DETERMINANTS THAT LEAD TO LOW LEVEL OF NATIONAL CONSCIOUSNESS OF STUDENTS

This paper shares the findings of a study of levels of national identity in students economic specialties. The author explores the attitude of present-day Russian youth in terms of their affiliation with a particular ethnic group, their insight into the essence of national civic identity, and their attitude toward the country's historical past. The scholarly-methodological findings of the research reported in this paper may lend themselves as practical recommendations toward the process of fostering a sense of national civic consciousness in students at present-day pedagogical colleges and serve as a basis for promising research in the way of developing relevant research-to-practice technology, and could also be utilized in developing regional integrated programs.
