Concrete is the most widely used man made construction material all around globe. Around 5 billion tones of concrete have been used worldwide every year. It is inevitable material in human life due to its characteristics like strength and durability. Mechanical properties of concrete change depending on its ingredients. Now a day the usage of ceramics is increasing day-by-day. Ceramics are made from natural materials such as clay that have been hardened by heating at high temperatures of 11000 c-12000 c. Ceramic aggregates possess similar properties same as that of natural coarse aggregate. The ceramic waste is durable, hard and highly resistant to chemical and physical degradation. Use of hazardous industrial wastes in concretemaking will lead to greener environment. In ceramic industry about 30% production goes as waste, which is not recycled at present. In this study an attempt has been made to find the suitability of the ceramic industrial wastes as a possible substitute for conventional crushed stone coarse aggregate. Experiments were carried out to determine the compressive strength of ceramic waste coarse aggregate. The properties of the aggregates were also compared. Test results indicate that the workability of ceramic waste coarse aggregate concrete is good and the strength characteristics .The proposed project is to deal with M25 grade of concrete and partial replacement of coarse aggregate by ceramic aggregate in the concrete composition.
