Abstract
This article deals with one of current issue of the discourse analysis – discourse typology. The author describes the basic standard discourse types in modern domestic linguistics and also the criteria forming the basis for its classification are distinguished. Having analyzed the main approaches to discourse typology, the author concludes that the criterion reflecting social characteristics of speaker and addressee received the greatest recognition in scientific community.
