ANALYSIS OF FINANCING THE HIGHER EDUCATION SYSTEM IN UKRAINE

The article is devoted to the analysis of the peculiarities of financial support of the national system of higher education, also outlined the ways of improving the financing mechanism of the national higher education. The research finds that the level of funding for higher education is not sufficient compared to other European countries, due to the limited economic resources. The main characteristics of the financial support of the higher education system of Ukraine are outlined, based on the results of the analysis of statistical data, among which the significant prevalence of public financing, the imbalance of sources of funding for higher education; low share of corporate sector expenditures, etc. As a result of scientific research, external and internal factors of financial provision of higher education have been systematized and directions of its improvement have been highlighted, in particular diversification of sources of expenditures, stimulation of competition between universities and implementation of alternative financial security instruments.
