EVALUATING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SOCIAL CAPITAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL JUSTICE FORM THE PERSPECTIVE OF EMPLOYEES

Abstract

Introduction: Perceived organizational justice has a positive impact on the performance of organizations' employees and their satisfaction. Thus, the current research was carried out to evaluate the relationship between social capital and organizational justice from the perspective of employees. Methods: This research was conducted using descriptive and correlational method of study. Research population included all nonfaculty employees of central organization and all schools of Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences, in Southwest of Iran. Out of all employees, 230 employees were randomly selected in 2016. The data collection tool in this research included Nahapit and Ghasal Standard Social Capital Questionnaire and Niehoff and Moorman Organizational Justice Questionnaire. SPSS 21 software was used to analyze the data and Pearson correlation and stepwise regression and t-test were also used in this regard. Results: Significant correlation was not found between organizational justice and social capital of the employees [P> 0.05]. Most of the respondents did not show high satisfaction with organizational justice status and they evaluated the level of observing the justice in the organization at relatively low level, and no significant correlation was found between organizational justice components [distributive, interactive, and procedural] and social capital [P> 0.05]. However, significant correlation was found between distributive justice and employee trust. Moreover, significant correlation was found among six components of social capitals [P <0.05]. Discussion and Conclusion: Considering the importance of organizational justice and social capital in organizations, it is essential to strengthen all dimensions of it. Justice in the organization results in creation of a positive image of organization in their minds, leading to enhanced accountability and improved organization status in the external environment.
