Abstract
This paper presents the analysis of the associative experiment of the concept "Language" conducted among native speakers of English and Yakut languages. To identify the nucleus and the periphery of the studied concept in the work uses the method of Y. N. Karaulov "semantic gestalt". Reveals the general and specific in the linguistic consciousness of representatives of different culture
