METHODS AND FORMS OF HUMANITARIAN EDUCATION IN THE SCHOOLS OF THE PIDKARPATSKA RUS

Abstract

In the article the author reveals the organizational principles of the realization of content of liberal education in schools in Transcarpathia during the 1919-1939. The teachers of the Pidkarpatska Rus understood that for the achieving of the goal before the school education system an important role was played by the didactic forms and methods of liberal education. Therefore, they insisted on the need to take into account of the school practice the achievements in psycho-pedagogical and didactic sciences. The humanitarian education in the early XX century was carried out using the technologies that fully meet the interests and age characteristics of students. In the educational magazines which were published in this period, there appeared a considerable amount of material methodological guidance. In the interwar period the teachers of the PidkarpatskaRus were working on the level of advanced educational ideas of that time and tried in practice to implement the world educational heritage and the results of their researches. A common practice in school was "the daltonivskyy method" or "the plan of the free individual learning laboratory"; concentrational training; global method. Among the forms of liberal education there were used individual, group, collective (front) forms. The individual form of education was prevalent in the work on individual projects, tasks for individual work. The most common form of the contents of a group of liberal education were tours. The programs of the public, of civil schools in many subjects were provided educational trips. The topics, the places, the content was regulated by training programs. In the schools of the PidkarpatskaRus were popular regional excursions. Widespread were the trips in the Czechoslovak Republic. In the article the author shows that in developing techniques and educational formsduring the interwar period in the PidkarpatskaRusthere were a lot of researches and innovative ideas. The fact, that these issues were raised and discussed extensively in the pages of periodicals, is contributed to the development of liberal education in the Pidkarpatska Rus. The aspects for further researches associate with the analysis of the curricula and programs of that periodwith the goal to determine the role and place of learning tools in the implementation of the content of liberal education.
