Abstract

The article discusses some features of social and educational work with children who have impaired adaptation. The importance of providing timely relevant disadaptated work with children in order to prevent further strain of the social identity of juveniles and committing by them illegal, criminal actions is underlined. An interpretation of the term "adaptation" is borrowed from Latin and means accommodation. For example, it may be adapting of an organism or a personality to various influences or living conditions that are constantly changing. Low or lack of adaptability characterized by the term "dezadaptation". An integral part of social and educational work with children is disadaptated psychological counseling, which aims to: promote changes in the behavior of the individual so that he can live more productive, feel satisfaction from life, despite all difficulties and obstacles in life; develop coping skills, adapt to new living conditions and circumstances; ensure effective adoption of vital decisions; develop the ability to engage and to sustain interpersonal contacts; facilitate the realization of personal potential of the individual. During the consultation there are several interrelated stages: research of the problem, the definition of the herd of the problem, identification of alternative solutions, planning, consistent implementation of the planned assessment and feedback. Of great importance to psychological counseling is the so-called consultative contact, which is defined as the unique dynamic process in which one person helps another to use her internal resources for personal development in a positive direction and actualize the potential of intelligent life. It is emphasized that the quality of consultation contact depends on two important factors: therapeutic climate and consultant skills (verbal and nonverbal) in an organization of a communication. Therapeutic climate, in its turn, includes several emotionally significant elements: the place of counseling, counselor and client location in space, defined structuring for counseling time, creating an atmosphere of mutual trust , empathy and respect for the client. Counseling concerns clinically healthy individual who has certain difficulties of life in interaction with the environment and can not cope with them alone. Counseling focuses on the healthy side of the individual, regardless of some existing violations: this orientation is based on the belief that a maladjusted child may change, find ways of the most optimal use of his instincts, even if they are not very significant. Counseling is aimed at changing of the behavior and the development of personality of maladjusted child.
