REALIZATION OF CULTUROLOGICAL APPROACH THROUGH DIALOGUE OF CULTURES IN THE CONTENT OF ELECTIVE COURSE MANUAL “GERMAN-SPEAKING COUNTRIES”

Abstract

The article deals with the problem of culturological approach in teaching foreign languages at senior school. The necessity to use culturological approach in teaching foreign languages, improvement of this process and increase of the level of its quality appears in connection with the processes of globalization and the necessity of forming favourable conditions for personal development of an individual, his / her environment socialization with the representatives of different nations and cultures. The author draws a conclusion, that a person that aims to know foreign language perfectly must study the culture of people – native speakers of this language, for a free orientation in realities, inherent in the people that belong to a certain language group. Introduction of elective courses in practice of senior school, in the author's opinion, must diversify, extend and deepen content of school foreign education by new facilities and technologies of their use, to assist its adaptation to the European standards. During constructing the content of the elective course manual “German-speaking countries” the author takes into consideration linguo-didactic approaches that prevail in modern school foreign education, namely: competitive, communicative-activity, personality oriented and culturological approaches. The content of the elective course manual “German-speaking countries” for the schoolchildren of 10–11 forms is given in the article from the position of culturological approach realization in educational process through the dialogue of cultures. The thematics of elective course “German-speaking countries” in content of approximate syllabus of elective courses in foreign languages for the pupils of senior school of general educational establishments are illustrated. The list of necessary abilities for realization of cultures dialogue is given, the socio-cultural thematics of the manual are exposed, the examples of situations on the subjects of cultures dialogue are given. The author considers that attraction of cultural studies components in the process of teaching German by the means of elective course manual is necessary for the achievement of a primary practical purpose – forming capacity for communication a language that is studied. The culturological orientation of the content for foreign education at senior school first of all is expressed in organization of communication in the form of cultures dialogue. That's why the content of the elective course manual “German-speaking countries” must be orientated on comparison of life aspects in German-speaking countries with those, which are characteristic for Ukraine.
