VARIABILITAS HARGA TELUR AYAM RAS DI INDONESIA

This study discusses the fluctuation of chicken egg price and price disparity across region in Indonesia. The analysis uses descriptive statistic (coefficient of variation) and monthly time series data for the period of 2008 to 2011. The results of analysis show that there is decreasing trend of price fluctuation over time. The regions that experienced high fluctuation of egg price are North Maluku, Jayapura, Manado and Bengkulu. Furthermore, the price disparity of chicken egg among regions is higher than that of price disparity of beef. The reason behind the high level of egg price disparity among regions is the concentration of egg production in certain areas such as Blitar, Medan and Makassar. In addition, the increasing price of gasoline and the long supply chain also influence the high level of egg price disparity among regions. However, there is a decreasing trend of egg price disparity in the period of 2008-2011
