PROBLEMS OF STUDYING THE INFLUENCE OF THE MODERN INFORMATION ENVIRONMENT ON COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN

The paper presents an analytical overview of the current state of knowledge about the problem of influence of new information technologies on the cognitive development of children. New information technologies form certain virtual information environment, which is different from the real environment, yet can exercise a full-scale, multi-aspect impact on the personality of the individual who starts interacting with this environment. Different approaches to the definition of the terms "information environment", "impact of the information environment", "the mechanisms of influence of the information environment" are discussed. Highlighted is the necessity to discern between the notions of "managed influence by means of new information technologies" and "impact of the information environment" as a completely new world, certain "infonoosphere".
