PARTIAL REVIEW ON CONTENT OF PLANTS IN INDIAN MATERIA MEDICA

Indian materia medica is a book of compilation and authority of medicinal plants used in medicinal folklore. Indian materia medica plants are the substances used in the composition of traditional medical remedies of 2801 plants. This review is on a collection of reported works on 156 Indian medicinal plants. Of these 52 plants are found to be reported about their classification, uses, and chemical constituents through scientific report search and through literature review. Remaining 104 plants only the photographic images are available indicating that they need to be explored thoroughly for their pharmacognostic studies.
